Send Emergency Supplies to Gaza Immediately

Long before the tragic events of October 7th, Palestinians in Gaza were already enduring immense hardship, suffering, and loss. For years, they have lived in a constant state of fear, grappling with hunger, thirst, disease, and a lack of basic sanitation. Their lives have been marked by repeated displacement, with families struggling to survive in the face of severe poverty. Even in the best of times, Gaza was a place of immense challenges, with over 2 million people facing daily deprivation.

Since the escalation of violence, the situation in Gaza has reached unprecedented levels of devastation. The ongoing attacks have claimed the lives of over 50,000 Palestinians, with 70% of those killed being women and children. The humanitarian crisis continues to worsen as hospitals, already operating under extreme pressure, have been overwhelmed, and many are no longer functioning. In addition, supplies of fuel, food, water, and medicine are running critically low, exacerbating an already dire situation.

Before this conflict, 68% of Palestinians in Gaza lived below the poverty line, heavily dependent on humanitarian aid. Today, the need is greater than ever, yet aid deliveries remain woefully inadequate. The number of aid trucks entering Gaza each day is only a fraction of what is needed to address the growing crisis. Organisations like Muslim Hands are crucial in providing essential support, but the scale of the suffering requires urgent, sustained international assistance.

Amidst the ongoing crisis, the destruction of over 700 groundwater wells since October 2023 has led Gaza into a severe water shortage, leaving 90% of the population without access to clean water. The average Gazan is now surviving on just 3 litres of water per day, far below the minimum humanitarian standard of 15 litres. This drastic lack of clean water has heightened the risk of waterborne diseases and skin infections, particularly among the displaced, making immediate action more urgent than ever.

In response, we are working on establishing large desalination plants across Gaza to address this crisis. These plants will be built near essential facilities, providing access to purified water by tapping into available groundwater, installing desalination systems, and setting up storage tanks with solar power for sustainability. Each of these plants will supply safe drinking water to thousands of people daily, ensuring they receive enough water for drinking and basic domestic needs.

Alhamdulillah, with your support, we have already made significant progress in providing life-saving aid to the people of Gaza, delivering essential food, water, shelter, and medical care. However, the situation remains critical, and the need continues to grow. Your Zakat and Sadaqah can help provide clean, fresh water for life, offering hope and support to those enduring unimaginable hardship.
