Motherkind: Saving Lives, Saving Humanity
Today is UN Global Day of Parents and what better way to mark this day than to pay tribute to all the wonderful mums and babies who we’ve been treating at our Motherkind clinics!
Across the globe, 830 women a day die as a result of illness and complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. However, 4 out of 5 of these deaths are preventable. That’s why our clinics in Somalia and Afghanistan are working hard to keep mums and babies safe, happy and healthy, serving over 11,000 people a month. After all, what would a family be without a mother?
So, take a look at some of the mums and babies you’ve been helping in Somalia:
Thank you for all your support. Our achievements so far have only been possible because of your generous donations. As we now pass through the holy month of Ramadan, please continue to remember all the parents and children across the world in need of essential lifesaving medical care. Human life is incredibly sacred, as Allah tells us in the Qur'an:
'…whoever kills a soul… it is as if he had slain all of mankind, and whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved all of mankind…' (5:32)
By supporting our Motherkind clinics, you could in fact be saving not one life, not even two, but humanity itself.
