Mental health is a fundamental aspect of overall well-being, encompassing our emotional, psychological, and social resilience. It is an integral part of the human experience, influencing our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Good mental health allows us to cope with life's challenges, build meaningful relationships, and pursue our goals and dreams. However, just like physical health, mental health can fluctuate and face difficulties. It is crucial to prioritize mental health, seek support when needed, and promote a society that values and supports the mental well-being of all its members.
As Muslims, we have been blessed with powerful and effective Duahs that can relieve our stress and anxiety and draw us closer to Allah SWT. Here are five short, but impactful Duahs that you can recite daily to keep you calm and find comfort during testing time:
1. Duah for patience:
La ilaha ila anta subhanaka innie kuntu minathalimeen.
"There is no diety but You. Glory be to You! Verily, I have been among the wrongdoers." [Quran 21:87]
2. Duah to safeguard from anxiety and depression:
Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-hammi wal-Ḥuzni wal-’ajazi wal-kasali wal-bukhli wal-jubni wa ḍala’id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijal.
"O Allah, I take refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts and from being overpowered by men." [Al-Bukhari]
3. Duah to alleviate family, health, or wealth worries:
Ya hayyu ya qayyum birahmatika astagheeth
"O Living and Eternal Maintainer! By Your mercy, I seek help!" [Sunan Tirmidhi]
4. Duah to help find a solution to tackle problems:
"O Allah, I hope for Your mercy. Do not leave me to myself even for a blink of an eye. Correct all of my affairs for me. There is none worthy of worship except You." [Sahih Abu Dawud]
5. Duah to remove dept-related stress
Allaahummak-finee bihalaalika ’an haraamika wa ’aghninee bifadhliki ’amman siwaaka
"O Allah, suffice me with what You have allowed instead of what You have forbidden, and make me independent of all others besides You." [Tirmidhi]
