Clean Water for Banigolo Village

Aisha Adam

A year ago, our teams visited Banigolo village in Mali, where they witnessed the horrors of dirty water. Villagers were walking long distances to collect dirty water daily from a nearby river that is heavily polluted due to mining activities. Sadly, this is also the same water source that animals defecate in.

The dirty water was causing the children and villagers to frequently fall ill from water-borne diseases, resulting in children missing school, families unable to earn a living and conduct farming activities.

However, all of this changed as a result of your donations!

Muslim Hands Constructed a Community Well in Banigolo

Alhamdulillah, thanks to your donations, Muslim Hands constructed a community well in Banigolo village. The well is solar-powered and has 12 access points, ensuring villagers can access clean and safe water at various points throughout the village.

Alhamdulillah, the water well is providing clean and safe water to over 700 people in the village daily, and will continue to do so for the years to come. Thanks to you, children no longer have to miss school due to falling ill from drinking dirty water, families can earn a livelihood and women have access to clean water at their doorsteps.
