Muharram Mubarak: A message from our CEO
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
Muslim Hands South Africa would like to wish the Ummah a Muharram Mubarak. May all the praises and thanks be due to Allah SWT to whom belongs all that is in the heavens and on the earth.
Muharram is the month that marks the beginning of the Islamic year. It is one of the four sanctified months about which Allah SWT mentions in the Noble Quran, “Indeed, the number of months with Allah is 12 [lunar] months in the register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them” [Quran 9:36].
There is great reward for performing good deeds during Muharram, making it an opportune time to give your Zakat and Sadaqah. Millions of people locally and abroad are struggling without clean water, food, shelter and medical care, and this Muharram, your charity can help relieve their sufferings.
Your Zakat and Sadaqah can help uplift the lives of the poor and needy and empower some of the most disadvantaged communities around the world. Most of our projects are Zakat-eligible: from our emergency appeals and campaigns to our long-term work in eradicating poverty. If you can’t decide where to give your Zakat, you can donate to our ‘Where Most Needed’ option and our experts will allocate your Zakat where the need is highest.
At Muslim Hands, you can rest assured that your Zakat and Sadaqah donations are handled with the greatest care and reach the eligible recipients in the quickest and most efficient manner.
As we embark on a new Islamic year, we ask you to join us in making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate in South Africa and abroad.
May the Almighty accept all our efforts and shower His blessings upon you and your loved ones, Ameen.
JazakAllahu Khayran,
Mr. Ierfaan Cassiem
CEO at Muslim Hands South Africa
