On Thursday, 29th August 2019 the MHSA team delivered and completed a community upliftment project by sponsoring The Elim Shelter with 8 table and bench sets and a 3-month supply of non-perishable and frozen food items.

The centre has been operating for over 20 years and has served individuals from various communities, especially those on the road to recovery. Elim Shelter takes individuals through a process of rehabilitation with the aim of true and lasting re-integration of its clients into society.
The team was welcomed by Shafiek & Liza, the centre’s “mom’’ & “dad” and some of the residents of the shelter. Shafiek received and accepted the donation with gratitude and expressed him sincere appreciation to the entire Muslim Hands SA team for the generous and much-needed resources.
Shafiek further elaborated on the impact this will now have on the centre and bring new and added dimension to the shelter. Liza, the co-centre manager wishes to thank the team for stocking up the pantry, ensuring that they could go strong another few months, feeding its residents and the broader community who rely on the shelter for daily meals.
