Gaza is Starving — But Your Mercy is Reaching Them

Gaza is Starving — But Your Mercy is Reaching Them

There are moments in history when words feel too small for the scale of suffering.

Right now, Gaza is living through one of those moments. The difference this time is that thanks to social media and global coverage we see it unfolding in front of us, in real time.

How can we turn away when daily, we witness 2.1 million Palestinians facing acute hunger and see the sharp spike in malnutrition-related deaths, especially among babies and young children — lives that could have been saved with timely intervention.

A Disaster Exacerbated by Regional Conflict and Restriction

Gaza has become one of the worst humanitarian disasters of all time.

The situation in Gaza already so fraught is deteriorating day by day. Regional conflict and increased restrictions severely limit the entry and distribution of humanitarian aid.

At the same time, violence against Palestinians continues to escalate. The recent passing of a bill, despite global outcry and condemnation, legalising the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners has cast a heavy shadow across the region.

And yet, even in these darkest moments, hope persists — through your generosity.

Hunger on an Unimaginable Scale

Through our partnership with the UN World Food Programme, Muslim Hands – through your support - is working tirelessly to deliver life-saving aid inside Gaza despite the increased restrictions in aid supply.

Every single day:

  • 130,000 2kg bread bundles are distributed
  • 350,000 hot cooked meals are served

Every month:

  • Nearly 300,000 family food parcels and bags of flour reach vulnerable households

These are not just numbers. They are meals provided to people who are starving for nourishment, relief and hope.

The Silent Killers: Water and Disease

Hunger is only one part of the crisis.

The senseless destruction of more than 700 groundwater wells and sanitation systems has left families without access to clean drinking water. Contaminated water sources are now the norm.

As a result, diseases such as cholera are spreading rapidly — particularly among children whose bodies are already weakened by severe malnutrition.

But with your help, Muslim Hands is actively distributing millions of litres of clean drinking water through emergency water tanker services. We are also constructing water desalination plants and solar powered water storage tanks to create sustainable permanent water solutions for the region.

Displacement, Exposure and the Search for Shelter

1.9 million people — the vast majority of Gaza’s population — have been displaced and are living in overcrowded camps, makeshift shelters, or out in the open, exposed to harsh weather conditions with little protection.

What they urgently need are proper family tents — shelters that are:

  • Fire-resistant
  • Waterproof
  • Durable enough to withstand extreme conditions

A safe shelter is more than protection from the elements. It is a place where a family can feel whole again.

Through your generosity, Muslim Hands is providing families with safe durable tents which grant them protection, dignity and a moment of peace amidst a nightmarish crisis.

Your Role in This Story

Despite immense challenges, your donations are reaching those who need it most and making a difference.

But the scale of need is still overwhelming.

Hundreds of thousands of families are still starving. Still can’t access safe water. Still without proper shelter.

Your support can save lives and restore hope.

Be Their Relief. Be Their Mercy.
