Water Flows into Anuradhapura’s Rural Heart
Water Flows into Anuradhapura’s Rural Heart
In the rural stretches of Anuradhapura District in North Central Sri Lanka, where seasonal drought and water insecurity is a certainty, access to clean water is a daily struggle for so many struggling families.
But that story is changing!
Because of your incredible generosity and with the support of our hardworking local team, Muslim Hands South Africa has officially handed over the first of 15 community wells!
This marks a huge step toward sustainable water access in the region and will change the region and its people’s lives forever!
A Lifeline for Over 1,000 People
Community wells are more than just a water source—they are a lifeline. Each well has the potential to serve over 1,000 people, transforming entire communities.
Located in an arid area where water is scarce and rainfall unpredictable, this well offers consistent, reliable access to clean water throughout the year. Built wide and deep, it remains dependable even during the harshest dry seasons.
For families in Anuradhapura, the impact is immediate and life changing. Children will no longer fall ill from drinking unsafe water and can attend school consistently, and families can finally begin rebuilding their livelihoods now that they have access to water for crops and livestock.
A Gift That Keeps Flowing
Clean water is more than a necessity—it is the foundation of life.
Because of your support, families now have water at their doorstep, children have a healthier future - and entire communities can move forward with dignity.
Alhamdullilah. Your generosity just keeps flowing.
Jazakallah
