In the wake of the devastating October 2024 floods that struck Uitenhage (Kariega), Muslim Hands South Africa swiftly mobilized a relief campaign to support affected communities. With infrastructure destroyed, homes submerged, and hundreds displaced—especially in vulnerable informal settlements like Lapland—the need for targeted, efficient aid was urgent. Muslim Hands responded by distributing 150 food parcels, reaching approximately 750 individuals in crisis. This relief initiative was not only a demonstration of compassion but also a reflection of our long-standing commitment to uplifting communities in times of hardship.

Each parcel is packed with essentials to help families regain a sense of stability after the floods.

The Uitenhage flood relief project is a clear example of how strategic humanitarian response can bring tangible impact to those most in need. Muslim Hands South Africa’s ability to act swiftly—coordinating volunteers, leveraging local partnerships, and distributing life-sustaining supplies—provided a lifeline for hundreds of flood victims. As recovery continues, Muslim Hands remains dedicated to reinforcing resilience and restoring hope in communities facing recurring challenges.
